Award Categories

Master Entrepreneur

An individual who has maintained management excellence over a sustained period of time. The business must have been founded more than five years ago; if nominee is the founder, he or she must still be active in the management of the business.

Small Business Entrepreneur

An individual engaged in industry and/or services whose total assets, inclusive of those arising from loans but exclusive of the land on which the particular business entity's office, plant, and equipment are situated, must not have a value exceeding Php100 million.

Industry-Specific Entrepreneur

An individual primarily associated with MANUFACTURING, the specific industry to be recognized this year. This individual’s recent achievements must exemplify company building at its best in this industry.

Woman Entrepreneur

A woman entrepreneur who has shown exemplary management excellence over a sustained period of time, making her a trailblazer in her particular field of business.

Social Entrepreneur

An individual who has applied practical, innovative and market-oriented approach to his or her business or has created products and services that address the challenges faced by communities, help solve complex social problems, and benefit the marginalized and the poor. Their business may focus on enterprise development, health, education, environment, labor conditions or human rights. This award is intended to celebrate the successful entrepreneur's individual efforts to bring about social change.

To qualify for the Social Entrepreneur Of The Year category, please accomplish and submit the nomination forms for both Entrepreneur Of The Year and Social Entrepreneur Of The Year.

Final determination of the number of categories of awards to be presented will be decided by the independent panel of judges based on the quality of nominations received.

From among the finalists or the category winners will emerge the Entrepreneur Of The Year
Philippines 2008, who will represent the country in the World Entrepreneur Of The Year in May 2009.
