Teriyaki Boy Founder is Young Entrepreneur

Mr. Bryan C. Tiu, Founder of Teriyaki Boy, Inc. was named Young Entrepreneur for serving as a model for aspiring young entrepreneurs. He filled the gap between Japanese fine dining and low-end Japanese restaurants through his company, Teriyaki Boy. At the age of 29, Tiu is considered as one of the country’s leading entrepreneurs in the food industry.

Lactopafi Probiotic Bacteria Developer is Innovation Entrepreneur

Engr. Gregorio G. Sanchez, Jr., founder of Lacto Bacillus Pafi Techno Resources Corp. was named Innovation Entrepreneur for creating a new product, and applying an innovative technology, business solution, or approach that resulted in improving business processes or growing the company. He developed the Lactopafi Probiotic Bacteria, currently among the superior probiotic bacillus strains in the world. His company produces a health drink, Lactovitale, and has started to develop new products with the lactobacillus component.

Juice Manufacturer named Master Entrepreneur

Amb. Alfredo M. Yao, Chairman of Zest-O Corporation, was named Master Entrepreneur for exemplifying sound management practices in finance, marketing, human resources and sales and for the strong relationship he has built with his employees, customers, suppliers, and shareholders. From preparing fruit juices in his kitchen, Zest-O juice drinks now have a total of 12 different flavors and includes in its product line fruit sodas, purees, and kitchen condiments. It commands 80% of the total market for ready-to-drink juices in the country.

Gen San Tuna Manufacturer named Socially Responsible Entrepreneur.

Mr. Ritche C. Rivera, President of RD Manufacturing Corporation, was named Socially Responsible Entrepreneur for using his private sector skills and creativity to help his community overcome social or environmental problems. Under his leadership, RD Manufacturing Corporation became the top exporter of canned tuna and the only tuna canning company in the Philippines that has its own fishing company and packaging facility, which employs over 2,000 residents of General Santos City and nearby areas. Rivera also leads community outreach programs through the RD Foundation.

Cebu Pacific’s Chief is Tourism Entrepreneur

Mr. Lance Y. Gokongwei, President and CEO of Cebu Air, Inc., was named Tourism Entrepreneur for establishing Cebu Pacific as a low-cost alternative to the country’s only carrier by offering great-value service, lower fares, and on-time performance, and by redefining the concept of domestic air travel for Filipinos. Under his leadership, the company achieved phenomenal success and attracted frequent flyers. It is now the second largest airline in the country in terms of capacity offered, traffic carried, and revenues generated. Gokongwei was also adjudged 2005 Entrepreneur Of The Year Philippines and will represent the Philippines in the World Entrepreneur Of The Year Awards in Monte Carlo, Monaco in June.
